Happy Holidays, Have a Drink Recipe!

I love me some egg nog and hate that you can only buy it in the grocery store around the holidays. I’ve made my own and it tastes just fine, but it doesn’t taste the same or keep as well, and because it’s a lot thinner of a liquid, it also doesn’t mix the same in my egg nog lattes or drinks like this one, which I created many many years ago and love to treat myself with this time of year!

GINGERBREAD GROG

8 oz (4 shots) Eggnog
1 oz (1/2 shot) of ginger liqueur, such as Stirrings
2 oz (1 shot) white Creme de Cacao
2 oz (1 shot) dark rum, such as Myer’s Dark or Gosling’s Black Seal
A pinch of ground clove
A few sprinkles ground cinnamon

 

  • Pour the eggnog, ginger liqueur, Creme de Cacao, and rum into a shaker over ice.
  • Shake well to mix.
  • Pour into a glass (you can separate out the ice if you are worried about it getting watered down) and top with the clove and cinnamon.


(I realize it sounds a bit weird, but I swear it tastes like gingerbread!)
